In the $1,050 GGMasters HR, ace Pedro Padilha won for the second time after a strong start. In total, the Brazilian’s victory in the GGPoker Top Freeze tournament earned the Brazilian $112,925 in prize money.

Padilha quickly started getting eliminated at the final table. As the owner of the biggest stack, he chose to defend his big stack and called an 11-bet all-in from Code Enfant, holding K ♦K♠. The Samba team members, led by J♥J♣, hit a straight on the Q♥K♣3♠A♣10♥ board to win the pot.

Padilha’s lead in the 6-player game was interrupted when he lost more than half of his chips within a few hands. In a blind battle, he declared an all-in move and was called by Joe Serock. With 10♣3♥ against A♦K♣, Padilha even found one of his exits on the flop of 9♦6♥3♦, but the 2 on the turn and the J on the river prevented the American from falling.

The next step further away from the opponent, Padilha risked 10 BBS and called Konstantino Tolios’ all-in move. With the advantage of A 9 ♠ over 7 ♦ 4, he didn’t let the front of 5 ♠A♣J♠3 ♦9♥ surprise him and gave himself some breathing room.

And Tolios gave himself some breathing room. While Padilla won the five-man match, Padilla was one card away from elimination in the four-way match. Holding Q♣J♣, he raised to 900,000, leaving 1,025,910. Meanwhile, CL Matthew Stumpf made a 3-bet all-in and was called by Padilha. With 10 10♠, the Canadian went all-in on the flop of 9♠7♦A and the turn of King, but the 10♥ river completed the runner-up-runner-up sequence and doubled Padilha’s stack.

At one point, Padilla was once again isolated on the top of a mountain and never looked back. In consecutive actions, he sent out Stumpf and “StackOderWeg” with 57 BBS against Serock’s 14 BBS.

Even when Serock tried to destabilize the Brazilian, he didn’t come close to turning the tide. On the final hand, Padilla went all-in and then called his opponent’s all-in. Padilha held 9♥9♣ against A♣8♦ and took the title when the board brought J♥J♦6♠8♣5♠.

A total of 807 players took part in GGMasters, leading GGPoker to exceed the $750,000 guaranteed field.
