The battle for the EPT Paris Main Event Championship has begun. Of the seven Brazilians who paid the €5,300 buy-in, only two managed to pass the 10 60-minute levels.

Felipe Boianovsky is ranked 28th with 155,000 chips, approximately 103 BBS. Peterson Machado of Rio de Janeiro ranked 113th. Once he returns to the Town Hall, he will have 69,500 chips at his disposal.

Finland’s Eero Rantala topped the list of 199 runners-up. He has 299,000 in chips, followed by pros Grigorii Rodin (297,000) and Guillaume Nolet (295,000).

Several former Main Event champions are also up, including local player Simon Wiciak (115,000). Ahead of the restructuring and trade, PokerStars announced that the former football player is now a member of the PokerStars Pro Team. In 2023, he defeated Brazilian player João Sydens in a heads-up match in Barcelona.

The event had a very promising debut with 607 registrants. The final qualifying round is underway, but late registration will end before Day 2 begins.
